Aguascalientes
Mexico is situated in the northern region of the American continent linking the Gulf of Mexico on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. It is encircled by the United States on the north and by Guatemala and Belize on the south and is divided into six tourist regions. The historic city of Aguascalientes, the capital of the state of Aguascalientes, is situated in north-central Mexico, 504 kilometers from Mexico City and 130 kilometers from Zacatecas. The climate is lovely, with an average year-round temperature ranging from 17 to 20 degree Centigrade and summer highs reaching 23 degree Centigrade.
Aguascalientes, founded 430 years ago, offers an impressive variety of old churches, neighborhoods, gardens, plazas, modern edifices, museums, architectural monuments, bullfight arenas and swimming resorts with thermal waters. In this city, you can also attend a variety of traditional events, such as the Festival de las Calaveras that means the Festival of Skulls and the San Marcos National Fair, one of the finest and oldest showcases of regional culture and tradition.
