Cuernavaca
Mexico is situated in the northern region of the American continent linking the Gulf of Mexico on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. It is encircled by the United States on the north and by Guatemala and Belize on the south and is divided into six tourist regions. These regions are Northern Mexico, Central Mexico, Southern Mexico, The Yucatan Peninsula, The Pacific Coast and The Baja California Peninsula.
Cuernavaca, the City of Eternal Spring, is located 89 kilometers south of Mexico City, in the northern region of the state of Morelos. The city has a pleasing climate, with an average year-round temperature of 23 degree Centigrade. It has luxurious spas, which present all kinds of massages and relaxation therapies, swimming resorts, which have excellent facilities, magnificent historic buildings, such as the Convento del la Asuncion Convent of the Assumption, la Capilla de San Jose San Jose Chapel and the Palacio de Cortes, Palace of Cortez, the oldest viceregal civic construction, which houses Diego Rivera murals and the Jardin Borda Borda Garden which is a significant city symbol due to its rich history and natural beauty.
Other attractions include Corredor Biologico Ajusco-Chichinautzin, an ideal spot for ecotourism outings, swimming resort Las Estacas, the Zempoala Lagoons, which consists of lagoons, archaeological ruins and forest and the Xochicalco archaeological zone, declared a World Heritage Site.
Amongst the most important festivities, which frequently feature fairs, fireworks shows and dance performances, are El Dia de San Antonio, held on June 13th in the San Antonio neighborhood, La Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de los Milagros, which takes place in Tlaltenango on September 8th and the Virgin of Guadalupe Day, celebrated on December 12th.
