Loreto
Mexico is situated in the northern region of the American continent linking the Gulf of Mexico on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. It is encircled by the United States on the north and by Guatemala and Belize on the south and is divided into six tourist regions. These regions are Northern Mexico, Central Mexico, Southern Mexico, The Yucatan Peninsula, The Pacific Coast and The Baja California Peninsula.
The heavenly Bahia de Loreto or the Loreto Bay is one of the popular tourist destinations in Mexico which enjoys a positive reputation by incoming worldwide travelers. The bay is located in the northeastern region in the state of Baja California Sur and is almost 350 kilometers to the north of La Paz. The climate here is hot, with an average temperature of 28 degree Celsius.
The attractions in Loreto are the vast and varied bird life, mammal, and reptiles of the delta. Also to be seen and visited are the Bahia de Loreto Marine Park, which consists of a group of islands that offer ideal conditions for scuba diving, fishing and nature observing. Also of interest is the Sierra la Giganta, an area with mountainous terrain that is optimal for climbing and biking. In the surrounding areas, you can also see the most famous cave paintings on the peninsula at the Sierra de San Francisco. In addition, you can visit baroque missions San Javier and Nuestra Senora de Loreto, which are the oldest in the region.
Like some of its sister cities and towns in the Mexico, Loreto is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of the nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important touristic attractions in Mexico.
