WEATHER PATTERNS:
Weather is spring-like most of the year, with a warming trend from mid-April to mid-July; rains begin July to mid-September.
During October, the wild flowers are abundant after the rainy season and a tour around the lake is fantastic! The weather during the rainy
season is spring-like (only rains at convenient times, such as late afternoon and night).
Winter can get chilly, since it’s elevation is 7000 ft., but daytime is temperate. Best time to go to the Michoacan Coast, lush and cool in the winter, only 2 hours away from Patzcuaro.
WHAT TO DO:
Tours: view colonial homes, around Lake Patzcuaro by car or boat, beach trips, monarch butterfly tours and so much more.
Archeology: Several important ruins dot the lake. Tzintzuntzan is the largest uncovered ruin in the area. Many ruins are visible, but uncovered!
Learn Spanish: Private, small classes in the morning, conversation in the afternoon. Take as many weeks as you need, they’re flexible.
Art Workshops: Photography, Ceramics, Painting, Cultural-related, etc.
Water Sports: Bring your kayak, canoe or motor boat. There are no restictions to water sports, or take a boat tour around the island!
