Booked your holiday with an ABTA Travel Agent, or an online company? Can you be sure that you are financially covered in the event of the agent or supplier going bust?

New rules brought in by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) mean that even if customers book their holiday through their local ABTA travel agent, ABTA no longer guarantees the customer will get their money back should that agent go bust.

She says: “In my opinion this latest move by ABTA is extremely bad news for travel customers in the UK. I am sure that many more customers in the Wiltshire area will now choose to book with me, not just because of the personal service and attention to detail I provide, but because of the financial security they receive through the Travel Counsellors Trust. It gives all my customers a copper bottomed guarantee that their money is 100% protected.”
