Luxury Travel Magazine Editors Name Top Ten New Caribbean Resorts
Luxury Travel Magazine online, the 'Trip Advisor' for discerning travelers, names the season's Top 10 New Caribbean Resorts.

Amanyara (Turks & Caicos) The most exciting announcement of the season is the opening in March 2006 of Amanresorts' first Caribbean property. Amanyara will be unique in featuring a state-of-the-art recording studio, which was selected in partnership with Nile Rogers. Embracing a landscape of ponds and ocean, Amanyara is comprised of freestanding, contemporary ocean, beach and pond pavilions and two, three-bedroom villas. Open to views and cooling sea breezes, designed for lounging, dining and sun-bathing, Amanyara reflects the colorful palette of the Caribbean.
The Beach House (Barbuda) Opened last winter, this private haven of peace and tranquility is one of only three resorts on the island and sits on miles of the most secluded and pristine beach in the Caribbean. Here you feel at one with the natural beauty of this idyllic island. At the heart of the hotel is the Clubhouse, which functions as front desk and restaurant, library and Internet café, beach bar and billiard room.
Carlisle Bay (Antigua) Opened just a year and half ago, Carlisle Bay brings chic contemporary luxury to the Caribbean. Sister hotel to the award-winning One Aldwych in London, this exciting new hotel offers the Caribbean's only private screening room. Eighty spacious ocean facing suites have cool, calm interiors. The resort also offers two outstanding restaurants the exceptional Blue Spa, gymnasium with personal training, yoga, and Pilates and nine tennis courts.
Eden Rock Resort & Spa (St. Bart's) Recently re-opened after a fabulous makeover, Eden Rock has 18 suites and cottages in one of the most unique locations in the Caribbean. The new alterations include a Hollywood-style Garbo Suite (a former regular guest). New too is The Rock Shop next to the Sand Bar restaurant and a Gallery where local artists paint and sell their work. The owners of Eden Rock have bought the Filao Beach Hotel next door and this will open as the new wing in October 2005.
Esencia (Riviera Maya, Mexico) Open February 2005. Once the home of a European Duchess, this serene new spa resort is located on one of the least developed beaches in the area. Fairmont Mayakoba (Riviera Maya, Mexico) Opening December 2005. The much-anticipated 1,605-acre Mayakoba resort village, with its many lagoons, spreads over a pristine stretch of the Caribbean coast's Riviera Maya. In the fall of 2005, the development's first luxury resort with golf, spa, and meeting facilities will open as The Fairmont Mayakoba at Playa del Carmen.
The House (Barbados) Opened last winter...you must cross a wooden bridge over a lake with water lilies to reach this sanctuary that is simply called The House. This elegant hotel is located on Paynes Bay in St. James on the west coast of Barbados. Upon arrival you are assigned a Personal Ambassador, whose job it is to tend to your every wish, from unpacking to offering a refreshing spritz of Evian water as you relax on the white sand beach.
Le Sereno (St. Bart's) Re-opening in November 2005, after extensive redesign and refurbishment, Le Sereno has just 36 rooms and villas with private gardens and terraces scattered along 180 metres of palm shaded beach. Rooms are sleek and stylish, and feature luxurious amenities such as plasma screen TVs, i-pods and i-pod docks.
The Palms (Turks & Caicos) Opened last winter, The Palms lies amidst 12-acres of gardens at the edge of 12-mile Grace Bay beach. Its 72 suites feature no less than 1,800 square feet of living space with expansive outdoor terraces, marble floors and vaulted ceilings. Aromatherapy mists, tropical sorbet and individual iPod minis beside the serpentine infinity pool ensure a pampered ambience. The 15,000 square foot spa is almost a destination unto itself.
Ritz-Carlton (Grand Cayman) Opening November 2005. Last, but not least, one of the most exciting announcements of the season, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman unites the top names in every field to create 'Seven Wonders on Seven Mile Beach" -- A Greg Norman designed golf course; Tennis by Nick Bollettieri; Ambassadors of the Environment by Jean-Michel Cousteau children's program; Two restaurants by Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin, NYC; The world's first spa inspired by La Prairie's Silver Rain and The Reserve condominiums.
