Mexico is situated in the northern region of the American continent linking the Gulf of Mexico on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. Known mainly for its bustling commercial activity along the port, Tampico also offers architectural, archaeological and natural attractions, making it one of the region’s main tourist destinations.
 
Among some of the most notable sights are the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepcion de Tampico, the Edificio de la Aduana Maritima, a pyramid known as Las Flores The Flowers, and the nature areas near Playa Miramar and La Laguna del Carpintero,where you can do various water sports. In Tampico’s surrounding areas you will find ecological sites like the Laguna El Chairel, where you can observe a wide variety of wildlife. There you can go fishing for such species as red snapper and shark.
