Valle de Bravo
Mexico is situated in the northern region of the American continent linking the Gulf of Mexico on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. It is encircled by the United States on the north and by Guatemala and Belize on the south and is divided into six tourist regions. These regions are Northern Mexico, Central Mexico, Southern Mexico, The Yucatan Peninsula, The Pacific Coast and The Baja California Peninsula.
Valle de Bravo is located 67 kilometers east of Toluca, the capital of the State of Mexico, and 145 kilometers from Mexico City. It has a moderate semi-humid climate, with an average year-round temperature of 17º centigrade. Surrounded by mountains, this magical town is a significant tourist destination, thanks to its excellent hotels, restaurants, equestrian club, beautiful golf courses and manmade lake. The hilly surrounding areas of Valle de Bravo offer perfect conditions for camping outings in totally safe environments.
Among Valle de Bravo’s most significant festivities is the Festival Vallesano, which takes places in March and features several sporting and cultural events. In Valle de Bravo you will find ceramics, leather goods, glazed pottery and embroidered textiles made by Mazahua women. You can buy these crafts and much more at the Mercado de Artesanias on Av. Juarez. In Valle de Bravo there are diverse museums where you can learn about the lives and works of well-known personalities. These places also host diverse cultural events.
In the surrounding areas you will find beautiful nature reserves like the Santuario de la Mariposa Monarca. The area becomes the monarch butterflies’ nesting grounds from November through March. Also you can visit the Parque Natural Bosencheve and the Reserva de Monte Alto, which are perfect spots to enjoy various adventure sports, such as mountain and rock climbing, bicycling and camping. This place will leave a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justify the proud cultural tradition of Mexico.
